Virtual re-dress
Reinventing & personalizing fashion eCommerce
A single volumetric video production can be combined with multiple digital garments and backgrounds
What is Volumetric Capture?
Volumetric Capture is a technology that converts a person, object, or place into 3D digital data and reproduces it as a high-quality image. This is a type of free-viewpoint video technology that captures the entire real world and allows it to be viewed from any angle.
Digital realism that moves fashion
While working on numerous fashion campaigns, we realized the legacy production workflow is a huge hurdle for a field built around high-quality content and rapid delivery.
The fast-moving online fashion industry has always had a voracious appetite for still images and video. However, its needs have intensified during a seismic shift to online shopping, the rise of digital fashion, and the Metaverse.
There's pressure to deliver a more extensive range of dynamic digital assets that integrate seamlessly into the platforms of fashion brands and retailers and it must be done in a way that's both efficient and scalable.
Our solution
Realistic human movement is notoriously hard to recreate and is unbelievably easy to spot, even to the untrained eye. Volumetric capture is the documentation of realistic human behavior, not a recreation of it.
Facial features, expressions, the movement of the form and garments, and the drape of fabric are hipper realistic.
We created patented technology that unifies the data captured by the volumetric capture system to an editable 3D mesh and built a prototype of an interactive redress fashion experience that uses exclusively volumetric captured footage and digital garments.
Our technology gives the user complete autonomy to shop and curate fashion. The potential of this shopping experience is unparallel; showcasing different garments on different body types, different styles or trends, changing the environment (realistically or fantastically), in e-commerce video, in VR/AR, and in the metaverse.
